High-quality water is essential to success in the Ice vending industry.
However, there are large differences in water quality across the USA, so filtration needs vary. This is why Kooler Ice offers three different filtration packages to best match your filtration requirements with your water quality.
The most common measurement of water quality is Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). The more particles and impurities in the water, the higher the TDS and the lower the water quality. Higher TDS results in cloudy ice that melts faster, crushes easily, and negatively impacts taste. Naturally, consumers prefer fresh-tasting ice and water. Offering a standout, high-quality product is what keeps customers coming back to your machine!
The ONLY way to significantly reduce TDS in water is with Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration. Do not be fooled by manufacturers offering one ‘catch-all’ solution that does not involve Reverse Osmosis. Leaving off RO where needed will negatively impact your sales, customer satisfaction and shorten the life of your ice maker. It’s super-important to get the filtration right in the ice business from the start!
STANDARD FILTRATION
REVERSE OSMOSIS FILTRATION
TRIPLE RO FILTRATION
4-Stage Filtration is standard on all Kooler Ice machines with water vending, for areas with high water quality and low TDS (<125). This system includes 2 carbon filters, sediment filter, and UV filter.
5-Stage Filtration is required where water quality is mediocre to poor and TDS are high (125+). This system includes 2 carbon filters, sediment filter, UV light filter, and RO membrane filter.
7-Stage Filtration is suggested for areas requiring RO, where water costs are notably high. Kooler Ice exclusively offers this system, which includes two carbon filters, a sediment filter, a UV light filter, and three RO membranes. Compared to traditional RO filtration, this system sharply reduces water usage while also producing filtered water faster.
